FTP Browse Dialog

Introduction

The FTP Browse dialog is available from the FTP Profile dialog. This dialog allows you to browse the folders and files on an FTP server. The dialog is resizable (click and dragging its borders). The Test button (FTP Profile dialog) also opens this dialog. In this case the OK button does the same as the Cancel button.

Note: Slow connections & connection dropouts can cause the dialog to appear locked up at times. If this happens just wait and the command should eventually timeout and return control. The timeout period can be adjusted via the Profile window.

Controls

Show Files - Check this box to display files as well as folders. May be useful in helping to identify a folder.

Create Folder - (Folder Icon top right). Allows you to create a new folder in the current server directory.

Delete Item - (X Icon top right), allows you permanently delete a file or folder from the current server directory.

File/Folder List - This dialog displays the contents of a single folder at a time. To change to another folder double-click a folder or select the folder and press the spacebar. After navigating down into a directory you can navigate back up by double-clicking the first ".." list item. The list control displays each folder items Name|Date|Size|Attribute.

Don't see a correct listing? We have tried to cover most server types. Please send us a copy of your log (with Trace on - Use Show Trace in the log's right-click Popup menu) so we can support your server.

Selected Directory - Displays the directory you have selected. When OK is clicked this is the directory returned to the parent window.

LOG Pane - A log of all communication with the server is available at the bottom of the window. To view the complete log either use the scrollbars or resize the window then drag and drop the Splitter bar (just above log pane) to enlarge the pane.
