Help Menu

The Help menu is part of the Main window

Get Help and other information.

Help | Show Help (F1)

Displays this local help. See also "Use Web Help" (below).

Help | Use Web Help (Translated)

If you require non-English help and have internet access, check this menu item. F1/Help will be displayed from the web (help made with FAR Uncompressed help). Google Translation services allow you to translate web help in any language. If the Google Translation panel doesn't appear, click on the floating "Translate" tab (top-right corner of the help topic).

This setting effects all F1\Help in FAR HTML. When unchecked, help is displayed from the local FarHelp.chm help file.

Note: Currently Web Help navigation (TOC/Index/Search) is not translated by Google translation services (because our frame file is created dynamicly using script). This is something we are working on.

Help | Environment Check

Provides a report on whether your software is up to the task of creating HTML Help or MS Help 2.x.

Note that MS help 2.x is used to create help that integrates into MS Visual Studio.

Help | Check Web For Updates

Manually checks the HelpwareGroup.com web site and reports if there is a newer version of FAR HTML available.
Note that the Preferences dialog allows you to automatically check the web site for updates at startup.
Requires an Internet connection.

Help | Buy FAR

FAR is free to try but unless you purchase FAR its features will expire after a time.

Help | Register FAR

Once you purchase FAR you will be sent a set of 2 or 3 license key codes.
Enter the codes to enable FAR to work past the trial period.

The About box displays product version and registration information.
